Urea 46%

Urea is a colourless, crystalline substance with formula H2NCONH2. It is widely prepared by combining liquid ammonia and liquid carbon dioxide under high pressures and temperature, forming ammonium carbamate which is later decomposed at lower pressure to yield urea and water.

The high nitrogen content in Urea and bring readily converted to ammonia in soil, make it one of the most concentrated nitrogenous fertilizers. Aside from its usage in the fertilizer industry, urea is also being used to meet ruminant animals’ protein requirement as supplement. Urea is also largely used to produce urea-formaldehyde resin, a strong adhesive for bonding of wood products.
